A former lecturer of horticulture at Auckland's UNITEC Institute of Technology, Andrew Maloy has written Weekend Gardener's popular 'Plant Doctor' column since 2003. He served as consultant on New Holland's Complete A-Z of Gardening in New Zealand. Andrew lives in west Auckland where he runs a small family nursery specialising in breeding new varieties of bromeliads.
